Goals
To end trafficking through legislation and provide the general public with knowledge on how to stop trafficking. The Norway Solution helps protect the women involved in sex trafficking. Until we are able to implement the solution on a national basis, we must educate people on the signs of trafficking to protect and advance the lives of the trafficked.

The Problem of Human Trafficking
The Norway Solution
My name is Paris Bland and I am a senior at Parish Episcopal School. Freshman year I joined my school's Academy of Global Studies. We were tasked with discovering a global problem and writing a paper on the intricacies of the issue. Initially, I had no idea what I wanted to do. When I discussed my dilemma with my Global Cultures instructor, he recommended I read Half the Sky. Author, Nicholas Kristof detailed the intricacies of human trafficking and prostitution abroad. However, after reading the book, I came to one startling conclusion, almost all efforts to end human trafficking and prostitution around the world focused in places like South America, Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Very few organizations focus on human trafficking in the United States. While we turn a blind eye to our own problem, the people in the countries we're aiding are being sold into the United States to work five blocks away from the capitol building. Two years after becoming incredibly frustrated with the problem, I had a chance to meet Nicholas Kristof. I asked him what the United States should do to solve the issue of human trafficking and he introduced me to the Norway Solution. This website is an attempt to incite real change by advocating for a viable solution.
